A convertible model was added to the lineup, and since the car was actually designed as a drop-top from the beginning, structural rigidity is the same as the coupe. Convertibles also have a real trunk, the first since 1962. An Indianapolis Pace Car replica was also available in limited quantities, with Radar Blue paint and contrasting Yellow interior and wheels with special accents.
FIBERGLASS FACT: Lowering the top on the 1998 Corvette convertible automatically lowers the windows if necessary.
